A very good thing to know is www.garzanti.it site. This is an excellent site (for dictionary). It has access online to more than one dictionary. it-it; it-eng; eng-it; fr-it; it-fr; conjugation of all italian verbs; pronunciation. That's bible to any italian-learner. (Note that one has to register in order to have access!)

Example:
To be - essere:
io sono
tu sei
egli è
noi siamo
voi siete
essi sono

-"afferma l'esistenza, l'essenza in sé, l'effettiva presenza di qualcuno o di qualcosa, o serve a dichiarare la realtà, la vera natura di un fatto: Dio è; è proprio come dico io; penso, dunque sono"

To have - avere
io ho
tu hai
egli ha
noi abbiamo
voi avete
essi hanno

-"possedere beni materiali, o anche doti morali, attributi, qualità, titoli e sim.; usato assol., essere ricco in senso materiale: avere due case, pochi soldi, molti libri; avere una bella voce, coraggio, buon cuore; avere un'intelligenza pronta..."
One could see in the dictionary more than present times, of course.

For a short and easy course, one could see this page:

Hm, but without transcription it is useless a little, don't you think? Unless you all want learn only writing and reading in Italian.

But for them who want to speak: "h" is mute, so for example: "io ho"(I have) we read: [i:o o].

However I wish you all good luck! Itatlian is a beautiful language - one of my favourites

One film: La vita e bella (Roberto Benigni), one song: L'italiano, Toto Cutogno
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlOO-EkdTCM

(or Sara Perche Ti Amo, remake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfZPHT02UxY)

the link to the course above and, I am sure, you will all know how to read italian.
As you know, Aneta B., reading rules are easy to learn.

And the super-secrete ingridient is that you have to read aloud, 53 times every day, this:
"Leggere in italiano è molto facile"
I won't tell you what it means, you have cucumis for this.

Yes, they are, indeed. But the lessons for beginners should just start from reading rules. Ho ragione? Apprezzo veramente il vostro impegno! Anch'io voglio imparare qualcosa
