I don't know how to vote Pia, since there are strangenesses in the original that you have not translated but interpreted (that is you have guessed how you think it should be written). (Hade det inte varit så hade jag godkänt den direkt). Similar things is always a problem for me, because in one way a translation is acctually just a translation but on the other hand if the person who wrote the original really made mistakes he or she could be happy that we correct them...
I would also interprete the very end a little bit differently:
...det bästa som hänt i mitt liv och det är att du älskar dig

eller, om man ska försöka rätta ev. fel:

...det bästa som hänt i mitt liv, och det är att jag/du älskar dig/mig

It is a problem that we can't really know how to interprete the source... One solution (maybe very bad) would be to translate it as it is acctually written (or to not translate it at all if the author not clarifies, but I think that would be a pity)

...you are right, this is only how I interpret it (vague source) and maybe my guess is very wrong! Anyway, since this was "meaning only", I gave it a try. So if I had translated it just the way it's written, it should probably read something like:

I want you beside you for the rest of the life, when you're not with me I don't have a life without you. It feels like I lose the best that ever happened in my life and it's you love you."

Should I edit it Lilian?

It is clear to me now that our job here is not only translating texts, but also correct, interpret, improve them as much as possible.
Of course we are not supposed to make a masterpiece out of some poor written texts, but even though we still try.
That "meaning only" mode, IMO, is to avoid that waste of time that would be if we had to correct all the submitted requests.
However, I think that in the translation, the text should look fine. If the translator understands the meaning of a weird or poor text, s/he should do an accurate version, but improving it if necessary. The requester will appreciate that and our conscience might get lighter.

Pia, if your version is accurate, I think you don't have to make it worse, just to be literal.

I think that it's accurate, apart from that I interpreted the first line "vill ha dig hela livet brevid dig" as "vill ha dig hela livet bredvid mig " (sounds more realistic?) And also the last: "det bästa som har hänt i mitt liv o det e du älskar dig" as "det bästa som har hänt i mitt liv o jag älskar dig"

Beside ...now thecolombiagirl can chose between the word-by-word-translation and the interpreted one.

Okey, I can agree that maybe the text should be corrected. I think your first guess is very credible, Pia, and the second is of course really the most logical out of the two possible ones as well. And good that you wrote a comment below the text.

Om du inte vill godkänna den själv kan jag göra det nu (eller kan vi vänta på fler röster). Tycker allt mer att det du gjort i det här fallet verkar himla genomtänkt och om man ska tolka tror jag det är den bästa tolkningen (som vanligt kanske, men ibland tar det en stund att inse det :-) )!
