As I am quite good at English myself (gone to English school a while), I know lots of English, but as I don't speak English at home I want it more polished. Contact me if you are completely English (UK would be best) and want to learn some Norwegian.

Hello, I speak English (been speaking it all my life as well as Spanish). I'd like to learn Norsk. Is it true Norwegians, Swedes, and Danes can understand eachother? If so I heard Norsk is the best one to learn if you want to communicate with fellow Scandinavians. Have a nice day,

Danish and Norwegian are almost the same, with small differences, the only difference is the pronunciation. Sweedish has also a lot of common words. Doesn't sound quite the same, but scandinavians hear it very often, so they can understand it. Actually they use a so-called "Scandinavian" which is understood by everyone. The Old Norsk is the language of the vikings and it has a lot of influences in those three languages, but also in Icelandic and Faroese. These last two are also very closed, but the pronunciation is different.
So, better learn Danish, you can use it absolutely everywhere in Scandinavia, except Finland.
