Statistics

Just a fast thought...It would be nice to be able
to see some statistics on Cucumis, about where people come from (in general terms)
what parts of the globe is the most represented.
I'm sure JP already has that sort of information.. but it would be nice if even the members could take part of such information.

by the way, I thought there were a lot of Brazilians & Turkish people around! but they those 2 nationalities resemble around 35% of all translators!

It surprised me to see there are only 551 Americans on this site, well it prooves again that Americans think they are the one and only in the world, and they also think english is the one and only language!
They don't care about others, so why should they learn a foreign language? They rule the world, that's true..

No, Nathan, Americans don't think they are the only in the world, how many of the 300.000.000 people living there do you really think have made this reflection? We Europeans are always eager to criticize Americans, but have you ever met an American personally? The ones I have met were generally very friendly people, interested in others' cultures and good learners of Foreign languages. It's a shame how we rejoice in our stereotypes about American people on this side of the pond.

Well, ok maybe not all of them..
but how many people learn other language?
trust me, they choose some other subject in school instead of languages (they can choose theirs)
and yes I met some real americans, that is why I say this,, I don't make such a matter about it, if I don't know what I am talking about..
I met more than 1 american, and all the same!

and I know that Europeans always want to criticize America, about the war and stuff, but don't blame us, we are taught to complain about everyone except us, now take China, everyone is complaining about the Nature in China, bla bla..

Well I don't blame the ones who don't like the Americans..
but I do know, without the Americans, Europe would be nothing, we can be grateful!

One of the reason why there are not so many americans here is that the server of cucumis is hosted in Europ. As most of the traffic comes from google and as google is showing in first position the sites hosted in the US (for the US citizens)...
But there is maybe also a cultural reason I don't know...

Oh, I haven't found this site through google!
