är inte "nursery" det samma som "nursery garden" = plantskola, alternativt förskola/dagis där man tar hand om småbarn.
Du skriver "sjuksköterska".
|

| I think it is "sjuksköterskeskola" = college of nursing
What about:
"Studera vid en hög stånd sjuksköterskeskola i Chile."
|
| 28 May 2008 19:31 |
piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Ok, but when I look at your bridge, I think that you better write something like: "Studera till sjuksköterska på hög nivå i Chile." or maybe "Gå sjuksköterskeutbildning på hög nivå i Chile."
What is the best choice?

piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Lilian,
I think that I misunderstood you now, sorry!
What about: "Studera vid en förstklassig sjuksköterskeskola i Chile"
Is that meaning better? |
| 28 May 2008 19:44 |
| That's the meaning I think! |
| 28 May 2008 19:47 |
piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Ah at last my brain was connected!
So, you can edit if the meaning is fine. |
| 28 May 2008 19:47 |
| Done! |

piasNumber of messages: 8113 | I think that your translation is right Lilian, (I trust you) but since my Spanish=0, we better ask the poll too. |
| 28 May 2008 21:18 |
| Of course! |

goncinNumber of messages: 3706 | Is it only my impression, or you translated the sentence putting the verb in the infinitive, lilian? It seems to me the verb in the original text is in the past tense, and some accents are missing: "en chile estudié enfermerÃa a nivel superior". |
| 28 May 2008 21:49 |
piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Hm ...maybe you shall write "Studerade vid..." if this is past tense. ? |
| 28 May 2008 22:07 |
| I translated it into imperative, actually.
I was also in doubt about the exact meaning, that's what happens when a text in the request lacks diacritics. What made me decide about the tense was that in Spanish if it was past tense it should have probably been "he estudiado", but of course we can't count that the writer would use the correct tense.
I think we could write the alternative translation in the remarks. And, of course set it as "meaning only"
What do you think? |

piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Sounds good to me. |

| Isn't "nivel superior" a "university level" or something like that? |
| 29 May 2008 15:27 |
piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Lilian,
I can see that your votes are positive but what about Caspers question ? |
| 29 May 2008 16:20 |
| Yes, "a nivel superior" means at university level. |
| 29 May 2008 16:28 |
piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Stupid question now ...but
Is it better then to write: "Studera till sjuksköterska på universitetsnivå i Chile."
Is that the meaning? |
| 29 May 2008 17:11 |
| I'd rather leave it as is. I think using "high level" conveys the meaning better. |
| 29 May 2008 17:37 |
piasNumber of messages: 8113 | That's ok! I feel a bit like I am hunting you Lilian, but since I don't understand Spanish as you know ..I have to ask all this questions.
|
| 29 May 2008 17:54 |
piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Ooops, I saw something now, we are Not using "high level" in the text.
förstklassig = first-class
hög nivå = high level
But I agree with you to leave it as it is.
