The city where I go to school, Mechelen, sure has a lot of history in it
I found a video about it on Youtube (inspired by Guilon ). The video is kind of special, but somehow I like it.

A small fragment of history of the city:
It is called Malinas in Spanish,
"...In 1572, during the Eighty Years' War, the city was burned and sacked by the Spanish. After this pillaging, the city was rebuilt." Wow!
| | 30 March 2008 22:49 | | Yes, the Spaniards freed us from those mean Dutch people in that war! ^^ j/k
| | 4 April 2008 04:21 | | Wow, really beautiful city Uru.
I love historical cities. | | 4 April 2008 19:56 | | The city itself is quite beautiful, although it's not a big city! (if you compare it with other belgian cities!)
What school are you going to, Urunghai?
Whiii, after China I am going to study in Mechelen!
And for Dhadha, you should check some things on the internet about Brugge, it's also a historical Belgian city and it's much bigger than Mechelen.
(Oh yes, Thatha, Belgium has a lot of ancient cities) | | 4 April 2008 21:04 | | When I have time I will search about it Nadhansinho...
I want to live in a historical city when I grow up, hehe. | | 5 April 2008 14:02 | | Is it? I don't, I don't live in a historical city at the moment (there are a lot of castles here, though)
But I want to live in a modern city! In China I'll study in Shanghai, how modern is that?
If you want to live in a historical city, you definetly have to come to Belgium!
| | 5 April 2008 22:39 | | I think I told you this before:
We are never satisfied with what we have.
Isn't this true? | | 6 April 2008 03:31 | | Indeed, I am never satisfied.. |
