Average points after a translationProblem report
Results 1 - 3 of about 3 | | | 20 May 2009 09:51 | | Good morning to everybody! I am relatively new (less than a year) in this very interesting and nice site. I posted a similar question in the Italian Forum but I am still without any response. The problem are the following ones: 1) If I am not wrong, in no part of the site I found the description of the method about the evaluation of translations. I am sorry if I ask a question that others may have asked too or it has received an answer in another point of the site or in the various forums, but I think it is an important point to be clarified;
2) I noticed that after many of my accepted translations my average votes decreased (!!) So, after having reached 9.85, I found yesterday 9.8 and today, after a new short translation, I saw 9.77. How is it possible? Of course it could be possible that some of my translations weren't so good, but in that case I would like to know it, to make some progresses... Could someone explain how translations are evaluated? If the average votes are necessary to become an expert, should I think that in this way there are no possibilities to improve? Or is it better not to do new traslations to maintain the acquired points? Thanks in advance to everybody who could give me an answer. Have nice days :-) | | 20 May 2009 12:27 | jpNumber of messages: 385 | Hi Maybe:-)
1) There is a page about evaluations, it might reply to some of your questions. It's not ALL our internal rules about evalutions, but some of them.
2) For each translation, our expert give a rating. If your rating is 10/10 and you get a 9/10 on your next translation, your average rating will go down yo 9.5/10.
Note that the ratings are ponderated by the length of the translation. A 10/10 on a very long translation is worth much more than a 10/10 on a very short translation. | | 21 May 2009 18:34 | | Thank you very much for your quick reply, jp!! :-)
I went to the page you advised me and read it carefully.
And thank you again for the explanations. :-)
Have a nice day :-) |
