I have recently watched the Fall and liked it a lot. And as you know there is a scene in which Alexandria performs a translation from and to Spanish&English for her mother and the doctor. But surely she says something completely different from what was intended
Well, I'm very curious about what has been told there
Is it possible for anyone to transcribe the Spanish dialogue in that scene? So that I can submit it as a translation request to learn the meaning of it.

Then I may have been mistaken that what was spoken was not Spanish but Romanian
I apologise for this. Anyway, I'll really appreciate if someone is able to transcribe that scene | | 30 March 2011 09:44 | Freya Number of messages: 1910 | Hey!
That Romanian part is about the cookies Alexandria's mother made. "Prăjiturile miros foarte bine" means "The cookies smell very good". That was what Alexandria translated to her mother when the doctor said to her that the girl shouldn't be working in the groves because she will eventually fall.
Then the mother said to Alexandria to thank the doctor for "his" remark about her cookies.
It's not necessary to transcribe the whole scene, I think. | | 30 March 2011 21:05 | RiseNumber of messages: 126 |
Very cute and funny really.
Well, it is the only mistranslated part isn't it? Then there is no need for the rest of course as you say
Also, after the mother tells Alexandria to thank him, her mother probably says something like "would you like to have one?" when she crossed the basket of cookies to the doctor, right? As the doctor thinks she asked some other question considering her intonation.
Thank you very much for your explanation I'm grateful. | | 30 March 2011 21:19 | Freya Number of messages: 1910 | Yes, then she invited the doctor to have a cookie.
You're welcome. It was a good movie. |
