Hi,
I'm currently testing a free chat module. You have maybe noticed it at the bottom of each pages. Let's see how it goes.

I tried it out last night and it was quite good fun. It's easy to use in any case, and the idea is great.

Just to say that we are experiencing some "pestering" whilst we are on the chat.

Several female members have been verbally sexually harrassed, whilst on the chat, unfortuantely there are creeps and perverts lurking on geesee. They sit in and often don't display a nickname (sometimes they do though so you have to be careful). :-(

As the chat is not a "cucumis members only" chat, there is probably no way of avoiding them. (I'm presuming that no-one on cucumis would act in this way). So I would just like to warn any women going on the chat to be careful who they accept to go into private discussions with.

A part from this rather distasteful problem, the chat is a great idea, and is helping me get to know other members.

It's a big problem. I've asked to geesee about giving moderators rights. They told me it will be possible soon. As soon as it's possible I will give the admisnitration rights to our trusted cucumis.org members.
Note that these guys could possibly be cucumis.org members. We also have problems with some members

If these guys are cucumis members, maybe once geesee give moderators rights, there could also be direct display of the member's nick (as used in cucumis), to avoid anyone hiding behind a "guest" number.

This way, if anyone tries it on again, they will be doing so under a known identity and can be asked to "amend their ways" or leave the chat. For the moment, when it happens I just tell all the girls to block the lurking sexual pervert and refuse to reply to him.

Xini had this great idea about all of us girls putting the photo of Bud Spencer instead of our own, on the profile page of geesee, to frighten off unwanted, testosterone-full men ;D

About this chat-room, Geesee sent me an E mail asking me to rate it, then I rated it "1", because, the few I've been there, I didn't have the time to chat, then I read the story you told to another cucumis member (Tantine) and it definitely disgusted me to get there. As I had some comments to add to my rating, I told them everything I thought about "chat" like this one, and added that unless they did a chat limited to cucumis members they won't see me anymore there, I won't sure log in there to get insulted by whoever it is. I've got msn messenger, this is very handy to chose whoever you want to have as friends, not like these kinds of chat-rooms where you have to deal with a lot of trashy people who are just looking for a scheme with females, and don't give a damn about communication, or simply people frustrated with their real life and insulting others just because they feel good after that...

I think that Xini's idea is great, hehe...
Yes, we have some bad things happening in the chat, but isn't all the time...
The chat is very nice, it helps us to know more of other members, not just sending some messages in the mail box, it's like a phone call, all there at the same time, and this is nice.

Even with Bud Spencer's you'll have to deal with "baleinophiles" of all sorts! (wharf wharf harf!)

Once geesee give moderators rights, there will be much less problems.

There is another option, the chat can be protected by a password. I will try to do so and display the password near the chat button on cucumis. What do you think ?

I think that a password is a good idea.

If anyone really wants to bother our chat... they come into the site it will see... SO it should be near the button but only viewable to the members.

Well, I think just the members are able to se the chat button, if I remember well

Xini reported a problem on the chat since I've activated the password protection a week ago. You are always alone even if several people log in. I will set back the former chat room (without password protection) tonight when I come back home. Sorry

Does the chat work ? I see nobody each time I log in....

It happens the same to me.

May be the that problem again, sometimes I stay there for half an hour and I don't see anybody.
