Yup. That's what they call "subtitles" here in Japan -- "supers" -- and it seems the most reasonable explanation.
I think we can safely say
...a super that reads 'magnum
means
...some text printed on the screen, that begins "magnum..."

No no no - it's not a "subtitle"! Ian just said that's what they call them in Japan. It's a word or words superimposed on the image that's on the screen.

For example, each of these videos, done by my boyfriend, starts with a "super".

instead of 'metin' we can use just 'yazı' :

'Reklam 'Magnum' yazısı ile başlar.'
