piasNumber of messages: 8114 | jp,
I think that we have all translations that you asked for now.
What about Finland?
Shouldn't they be included in this Nordic forum? I guess that the language is not that connected to the others ...but they are still our Nordic neighbours.CC: cucumis |

| Finnish has absolutely nothing to do with Scandinavian languages. It is a good idea, but not when it comes to languages themselves. |
| 6 May 2008 18:32 |
| Great, very soon the scandinavian forum will be online then. |
| 6 May 2008 18:40 |
| Finland could be part of the Hungarian/Estonian forum. If there was such a forum |
| 6 May 2008 18:47 |
piasNumber of messages: 8114 | Yes Heidrun and Casper, you are right when it comes to a scandinavian forum, but I thought that we discussed a Nordic forum ...that's why I mentioned Finland as well. |
| 6 May 2008 18:54 |
| Yes Pia, but the matter here is languages, right?
Heidrun: and Turkish, all them merged. They are all Uralic mmmmmm kidding. |

piasNumber of messages: 8114 | My guess is that a "Nordic Forum" could include also Finland (!!), because in many parts of the country they speak Swedish. But if we are supposed to call this a "Scandinavian Forum" you are absolutely right Casper! |

| Hi,
I'm with Casper on this one. Finnish is great, but I lack to see the purpose of including that language in a forum of totally different languages which have so much in common as Icelandic, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Faroese do. |
| 6 May 2008 20:48 |
| Yeah, Pia. You are thinking about territory, but the thing here is absolutely linguistic.
Unfortunately we don't have so many fin members for a forum, it would be great. |

piasNumber of messages: 8114 | I'm not with or against anyone here, it was just a thought/question that "popped up" after I read the whole topic again, and I threw out the question again.
Sure ...Finnish is different, and if nobody here like the idea, that's fine for me too.

| Maybe a Finno-Ugric languages forum for Finnish, Hungarian and Turkish? |
| 7 May 2008 10:40 |
piasNumber of messages: 8114 | That sounds like a good idea Franck!
The main reason why I brought the question up about Finnish was due to the name "Nordic Forum". (Nothing about territory Casper.) I guess that if you call something "Nordiskt", you can't exclude Finland. I know that this topics name is "Scandinavian forum", but I just thought when I read the other peoples comment earlier and now after my first post (18 April 2008 ) that maybe we should call it "Nordic" ....blablabla
This must sound a bit fuzzy, but I just try to explain how I get that stupid idea. |
| 7 May 2008 10:44 |
| Yep i agree too, the forums are merged by language. The goal being that as many people as possible can participate to the forum, in their own language, and being understood by most of the people using this forum. |
