| Querida Alexia,

subjective artistic backups which will cause sudden impacts in daily life…
Good luck!
Best
Lilly.

| Hi. I really need to know what you are saying. Would someone be so kind as to translate these comments into English?
Thanks,
David |

| David:
the general feeling among us is that the source text in Portuguese is pretty far-fetched, too "bedecked", you know.
Quite difficult translation into any language. Ambiguous concepts and too long structures.
In brief: lilutz took the chance of doing the best, most accurate version into English that could be understandable.
The text is weird, therefore, the translation will obviously sound weird.
Sorry, David, that's it! |

| Hi Dramati!
Most of the comments above were posted before my translation. They were discussing about the meaning of the text in the original language. This text is highly “cultured†and somewhat subjective, but I think I’ve got the right meaning… but unfortunately it´s not totally understandable!
I’ve asked the requester to take a look at the discussion, but he hasn’t shown up so far.
Regards,
Lilutz |

| abroad? should be actually "outdoors". this text talks about decoration. |
| 31 January 2008 16:03 |
| hmmm, I can't really tell if it is outside or abroad. Maybe you're right, Sandeu, but there's no way to know for sure!
Let's see what other people say and then I'll edit accordingly. |
| 31 January 2008 16:08 |
| Actually...I agree on the outdoors, lilutz. |
| 31 January 2008 16:22 |
| Okay, "outdoors" then!
wow, Lilian, you're a really active member! Thanks for helping! |

| What the text talks about (from what I managed to understand)is a new concept, a visual renovation of the urban lanscape by means of art...large pannels, outdoors, using as many shapes, colors and graphical elements as possible to cheer up what people have to look at, while commuting, or simply stroll around the city.
That's why I guess the idea is not abroad, but outdoors.
And thanks, I enjoy being an active member at |

| Lilian is correct...we are working with large panels like this in Israel which we put on buildings and such: they are really wallboards, but carry on the tradition of the old time "bill boards" one used to see along the highways. The difference here is that they are actual audio-visual panels and can be very nice as well as having a "message". In that context the translation is, for me at least, completely understandable. I will validate it. |

| one change: "backups" must read "backgrounds" |

| will be the new subjective artistic backgrounds, |

| I agree completely, David.
What about you, lilutz?
Is that on your opinion the correct "espÃrito da coisa"
I hope so. Good work!
