| Salut gamine.

| I can see that you have already talked about the part that says "ikke som én" that was originally traslated to "pas comme une" (which is, in fact, what it says in Danish), but unfortunately I´m not able to understand exactly what was said. In any case, I would like to suggest the following translation "[different from the others,] not like anyone" since this must be the meaning with the sentence. |

| PS: I´m saying this because the translation to Portuguese is based on the French version and not on the Danish so it has not been translated correctly (either). |

| Hello Anita. Yes, actually I had written " pas comme une" but Francky told me that one can't say that in French, but "pas commune" means almost the samz thing.
What you suggest is :" Tu n'est pas comme les autres" instead of " differente des autres.
No problem for me but I think Francky should be informed. CC: Francky5591 |

| ah, no, what I´m suggesting is that you maintain "différente des autres" (this is not the problematic part of the text) and only change the part that says "pas commune" which, as far as I know, means "not common". I´m suggesting that this part (and this part only) should be changed to "not like anyone" - in French, naturally :-)

| yes, "pas commune" conveys the meaning. "pas comme une" isn't said in French (I guess the adjective "commune" comes from here anyway)
about "not like..." and "different from" I think it means exactly the same thing, don't you?
and it will avoid redundance <=(maybe some mistake in the orthograph from this word) with the "comme"...except if one's willing it to be redundant.
As you feel, gamine, no problem for me, thanks for this notification!

| Okay ANITA. I'll cc Francky so he can change it; because he was the one who validated it. I remember one thing you told me about translations, and I think about it each time I translate(even if I'm not always good at it) and what you told me was : A good translation is a translation which looks like written by a native and NOT a translation. And I really think this one is a very nice translation, not because of me, but because of Francky. He has helped me a lot, as well as you have done for my Danish and I'm really grateful to you for having and continuing behave that way with me. And I DO think it. Actually, I'm very lucky to have so good experts and it's also a very big part of my reason to be here on cucumis!!

| Anita. What about :"différente des autres, comme personne" . I think it conveys the meaning. Can you change it, please, Francky has logged out. |
| 19 August 2008 21:35 |
| Me again . or if you prefer : "comme personne d'autre"!! |
| 19 August 2008 21:44 |
| je pense que "d'écrire" n'est pas correctement orthographié, ce doit plutôt être "décrire" CC: Francky5591 |

| yes, it seems to me that "différente des autres, à nulle autre pareille" ("different from the others, not similar to anyone else", right?) could convey the meaning quite well! But I have to admit that I´m basing this on a search on Babelfish because my understanding of French is about zero and a half ;-> Which also means that I have no idea about what you guys are talking about in French in the above comments....
NB: Francky, the Danish text is indeed also redundant. |

| Hi Francky. Have a look at Anita's answer, please. CC: Francky5591 |

| Thanks gamine!
Yes Anita, I saw Danish was redundant and that let me think that maybe it was something volunteerly displaid this way.
"Ã nulle autre pareille" literaly : "to no one else similar"(same order)
Have a good night ladies, sweet dreams!
see you with pleasure! |
