Great work!

Great translation: only one typo: "a major advantAge" and agree with Freya concerning the last sentence.

Lili,

May I ask you for a favour, if it's not too much a trouble? You mentioned that you made a few syntax corrections. I would like to know what they were to learn from my mistakes.

Thanks a million

Hi All,
Chapeau pour ce grand travail, si bien fait. Quelques suggestions mineures:
If it *had* been proved -> If it *has* been proved
it would've also been proved -> it has also been proved
[il n'y a ni passé antérieur ni subjonctif dans le texte français]
innitiated by a worlwide -> initiated by a worldwide
changed -> change
deter the possible "peak plates" which destroy -> deter possible spongers from destroying [un pique-assiettes is a colloquialism for a person who accepts invitations to dinner without intending to return the favour, Engish scrounger or sponger]
Tzicu-Sem: I have your original text on my pc. Would you like me to post it to you for comparison?
Best regards, Guido

Here is the original translation:
Category:
Organisms - Organization/Association of Defense

Description:
Group of fans for mutual help to find a lawyer to restore Michael Jackson's image.

The plot against Michael Jackson...

In November 2003 Michael Jackson was accused by a family of a crime he did not commit. During the trial the evidence proved that the accusations, of which he was the "victim", were nothing but lies.
After that, Michael was acquitted of all the accusations against him.
Despite that, the media continues to present him to the misinformed and ignorant public as a predator.
Who does justice serve?..Why is the verdict not taken into account by the public opinion?
The Arvizos and the Chandlers dragged Michael Jackson into the mud, they denigrated him and made him experience humiliating, inhuman ordeals, getting away with their hands clean.
If it had been proved that those people were lying, it would've also been proved that they didn't act alone...
In the United States it is the accused person who has to prove his/her innocence; thus, s/he is automatically presumed guilty!
Therefore, one can accuse someone without any consequences.
This is a door for abuse.
In the various cases Jackson's accusers had a major advantege. Indeed, they were safe to lie and slander Michael Jackson for money!
Thus being able to destroy the life and the image of a human being for money without being punished!
These people are criminals for whom Michael Jackson was a prey and a true victim. On the death of Michael Jackson, Jordan Chandler, the accuser of the first case, probably devored by remorse, admitted to the American press that he had lied under the pressure from his father, who was driven by the lure of money...
This information was deliberately very little broadcasted by the French media!

The present group was established in order to create a network to find a lawyer who would help us initiate proceedings against the people who lied to defraud Michael Jackson.
Recognizing the difficulty of winning such a case, the goal is mainly to attract the media around this symbolic trial. Thus, the media will talk about the first lawsuit initiated by a worlwide fan group with purpose to restore Michael Jackson's honour.
By this, the public opinion would change to the delight of all of us.
This trial will serve as an example and will deter the possible "peak plates" which destroy the life of a personality.
This group has to be promoted and relayed by each of you... The more members, the more chances to find a lawyer and to bring justice to the one who dedicated his life to give others the great work!!!

PS: Any help is welcomed... Journalists, lawyers, solicitors may provide their assistance.
Thank you!

Hi Guido,
That's not the original translation, the first one submitted by Tzicu. This is the one that was set into the poll.
I don't remember ALL the corrections I made, but I clearly remember some of them.
For example:

Following that ---> After that
assumed as innocent ---> automatically presumed guilty
**** ----> The Arvizos and the Chandlers (I don't remember what was there, but I know I corrected that)

And some other small syntax adaptations.

Thanks, but what we wanted was the first one, before these edits.

Organisms - Organization/Association of Defense --> Organizations - Defense Association
After that, Michael was acquitted of all the accusations against him. --> You cannot be acquitted of an accusation - you can only be acquitted of a crime, so I would say it as follows: "After that, Michael was acquitted of all the crimes he had been accused of."
Who does justice serve? --> What purpose does justice serve?
Indeed, they were safe to lie --> Indeed, they were risking nothing by lying
Thus being able to distroy --> One can thus destroy
was a prey --> was prey [not countable]
devored --> devoured
under the pressure --> under pressure
This information was deliberately very little broadcasted by the French media! --> This information [was] deliberately broadcast very little by the French media! [I put the verb in brackets because there is no verb in the French in this sentence.]
The present group --> This group
with purpose to --> in order to [or just "to"]
By this, the public opinion would change to the delight of all of us. --> Thus, public opinion would change, to the benefit of us all
will deter the possible "spongers" which destroy the life of a personality --> will deter possible freeloaders (I'm not sure about this one - it's a better word than spongers, and it means the same thing, but I don't know what "pique-assiètes" means) from destroying the life of a famous person
to give others the great work!!! --> ??? I don't understand the French here (the translator said the same thing), and the English doesn't work.
