Lilian,I'm a native speaker of Turkish and sana aşık oldum is informal but this guy wrote this text in a polite way but not the whole text.
Sana : you
Size : you They mean the same but size is plural and more formal.

I don't think " I want to be friends with you" is correct. "I", 1st person singular, and friends . either you say "I want to be friend with you", (or maybe better "I want to be your friend" or you say "I want us to be friends" ...
