| Well Gamine...it really makes little sense in English.
Pia, Lenab, do you think the original needs edition? CC: lenab pias |

piasNumber of messages: 8113 | I've edited the misspellings Lilian.
Maybe there is something missing in the last line: "Ett barn är varken psykiskt eller fysiskt ?? vilket gör det enklare att uppfostra."
Maybe Lena can help here.

lenabNumber of messages: 1084 | I think ther are several words missing. The writer who knows what she is talking about take for granted that everyone else are on the same level as she is. If I edit it the way I think it could be, I don't know for sure that's the way the writer intended it to be.

piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Agree Lena, this is a part of something. I've the feeling that it's about the different ability that female-male have to take care of a infant, but it's hard to tell. It's only a guess...
Btw, I think that the "missing word" in the last line could be: independent. |

lenabNumber of messages: 1084 | Here is my editing of this text. I think it makes more sense like this. the words I've added are in brackets. I also wrote "mannen" instead of "han".
"När vi skaffar barn har vi (kvinnor) en instinkt som säger vad vi skall göra för att ta hand om det, men (mannen) har inte den. Han har inte heller den information som krävs för att kunna ta hand om denna "storvuxna bebis". Ett barn är varken psykiskt eller fysiskt(krävande) vilket gör det enklare att uppfostra."
Pia may be right!! "Oberoende" instead of "krävande" ?? |

| well...well... let me give my guess too.
1- I think that "storvuxna baby"(storvulna?) she is talking about is herself.
2 - I agree that "mannen" would make better understandable the comparision between men and women in regard with the ability of taking care of children.
3- I guess "oberoende" makes sense. |

piasNumber of messages: 8113 | Shall we edit the source with "mannen" and "oberoende" ?
Maybe you are right Lilian, she is talking about herself ..I'm not sure.

| Well, I don't know...that's something you and Lenab have to decide. Do you think it would be a good idea consulting the requestor? She may be able to throw some light on this. |

gamineNumber of messages: 4611 | Hello girls. I must admit that I found the Swedish tex a bit strange, but as I said , I wanted to give it a try. Not sure that when she's about"storvuxna bebis" she talks about herself. Agtee with Pia thta tttthe "missing word could be "independent". But Lilian, if my English is very bad just reject it. You're the expert and moreover you understand Swedish. IF the missing words will be added, I'd like to have one more try, and if it's bad, I'll stop editing in English. What do you think. | Hi Gamine,
Let's wait a little to see if the requestor can clarify what is missing.
After Pia and Lenab have decided what will be the final text you will be asked to adapt your translation, OK?
Don't worry. There is no need for a rejection. |

| Then...what are we going to do with this request? |

gamineNumber of messages: 4611 | Hi lilian. I was asking myself the same question, but I can't decide. I think that lenab's version is not that bad and we could use it if the requester doesn't answer. CC: lilian canale |

piasNumber of messages: 8113 | I agree with Lenas version, but I do think the last world would be "oberoende" instead of "krävande". Can't one translate it as it is ...and then put Lenas suggest in the notes, as an alternative? |

gamineNumber of messages: 4611 | Hej Pia; Could you decide with Lilian. You are both experts. I have to log out for a moment. Must do some shopping. Will be back later today. CC: lilian canale |

gamineNumber of messages: 4611 | Well girls, what do you think of this :
When we get an infant we instinctively know how to take care of it, he doesn't, as well as he doesnt have the required information enabling him to take care of this "big baby". An infant is neither psychological nor physical independent which make it easier to foster it. CC: lilian canale |

Lene .. I think that you have interpret the text GOOD I'm not the English expert, but the meaning seems perfect to me now.
Two small things ..maybe "infant" should be changed to "child" and since the word "independent" is the missing word ...maybe you shall exclude it and mention it as a possible word in the notes instead. ??? |
