Early in the 18th century,Captin Cook,a famous expiorer of Australia,unexpectedly caught sight an unusual animal during hia first visit to Australia.The animal had a large mouse-like head and jumped along on its large hind legs.To hia great surprise,this unusual animal carried itsyoung in a special pocket of feish.Captain Cook pointed to the animal which waseating grass in the distance and asked hia native guide what the animal'sname was.
