| | 'we applied the pomegranate extract to dirty water which become polluted because of different reasons.'sondan bir önceki cümlenin böyle daha iyi olacağını düşünüyorum

-We applied the pomegranate extract to dirty water which gets dirty for different reasons.
Hi Lilian,
Sevinç suggests changing this sentence. In fact the meaning is not so clear but I think she is right, we'd better change it like I've mentionned above. Could you please check it? Thanks

Last line,
We tried to reach the efficient pH value (6.5 - 8.5 ) for water...>
To come to pH value for water efficient (6.5 - 8.5) were studied. |

| | Hi Bilge,
I couldn't understand if punjab requires the translation in scientific way but if that's the case, I have some suggestions:
... unfortunately gets polluted because of chemical wastes.
Our aim is to treat wastewater...
...which could be helpful for treating wastewater.
...to wastewater which gets polluted because of different reasons.(pollutants) |

| | Hi minuet,
Thanks for your suggestions. I think they are logical but I can't decide exactly what to do, so I think it's Lilian who can decide it. As for me, it would be better. |

| | Dear Bilge,
No, Dear Lilian can't decide it because she dosen't know turkish. She helps us if this translation is O.k in english or not. Therefore she can't decide if it covers the meaning or not. This is our (your) work. |

| | Hi handyy,
I know you are busy nowadays, but could you have a look at this translation?
Thanks in advance CC: handyy |

| | Hi again,
Merdogan, I know Lilian doesn't know Turkish but it was not what I meant. For the suggestions above, as you know in Turkish "dirty water" or "polluted water" don't make any difference. (Kirli su) But I don't know which one sounds better in English (for this text) The same for the words "clean" and "treat" That's why I thought that it would be better if someone who speaks English better than me decides it.
I hope handyy will help us soon. |

| | Bilge'cim,

| | Merhaba minuet,
Ben senin uyarından gayet memnunum zaten, hiçbir şikayetim yok ve dediklerinin de doğru olduğunu düşünüyorum. Üzülme yani Bakalım handyy ne diyecek.
Teşekkür ederim canım |

| | My suggestions (changes in bold):
Water pollution is one of the biggest and most important problems of our age. Water, which will cause countries to go to war in the future, unfortunately becomes polluted because of chemical waste. Our aim is to purify polluted water by adding pomegranate extract, because pomegranate extract has anthocyanins, which may help to purify polluted water. We added the pomegranate extract to water which had become polluted for different reasons.
We tried to reach the efficient pH value (6.5 - 8.5 ) for water. |
| | 14 February 2011 19:25 |
| | Note: atıksu = waste water; kirli su = polluted water.
"Dirty water" has a very specific meaning in English; it usually refers to water that contains radiation.
It can also be used by mothers telling their children not to drink or play in water that is on the ground - it's dirty because it's mixed with dirt. But that's not polluted water. |

| | Hi Bilge
I think that in English you could put "polluted water" this would cover both waste water and water that is polluted otherwise. I find the suggestions that kafetzou has made are quite appropriate.
Can you edit your text in the sense of kafetzou's suggestions, then I will set a poll.
