Mats, ne te vexe pas, mais j'aimerais mieux que tu ne traduises pas vers le français; Tu es par ailleurs, d'après ce que j'ai pu voir, un excellent traducteur vers d'autres langues, mais chaque fois que tu traduis vers le français, on dirait une traduction réalisée avec un traducteur automatique. (sans blague!)
J'ai déjà refusé une traduction que tu as effectuée voici quelques jours, mais les trois que tu viens de faire ne sont guère meilleures.
Désolé, j'espère que tu me comprends, cordialement, Francky.

Hello "Francky",

I'm just as sorry to say this to you as you were.

To be blunt I don't allow myself to be offended by the false accusation you're implying.

Being a straight-forward person I'm just utterly surprised about the way of corresponding with a collegue on the site.

Mats

Concerning the example above:

To be honest with you Francky.
The Danish is gramatically a horror not to mention the construction of the sentences.
Then you can add some Danish slang to it and you would possibly grasp the French translation.

Hi figge, I didn't see the original text of this translation as Francky has edited it now. This request was "meaning only", that means you can do it even if your french is not fluent. But this one is not "meaning only" and I agree with Francky, your french is not good enough to make such a translation.
You can certainly imagine the huge amount of time spend by the experts on editing translations. That's why we ask the translators to translate in their native languages or language they speak fluently. We simply can't do another way, that would require we spend all our lives on cucumis .

By the way, I don't think and neither Francky that you are using an automatic translation tool .

Mats, I didn't say you used an automatic translation tool, as I've seen you are a very good translator, but I just said it looked like("on dirait". Please don't feel offended, as it is the last thing I'd like you to feel about what I said. JP just explained it the right way, so I hope you understand it all now.
You know, I'm glad you are among us, but I just didn't know how to express the difficulty I would have to edit this translation into correct French.
I'm not half talented as a translator as you are. You are probably right about Danish grammar, but these nordic languages I'm very ignorant about, though I've seen the original text wasn't clear at all, this is probably why it was featured in the "meaning only" mode.
I shall accept this text because it is a "meaning only" one, and I'll just edit "partis" and type "la fête" instead (as it means "getting drunk and/or pissed all night long", "parti" evocating more a political group, in French)I'd like also change the "nous devons" into "nous allons faire", and it will give : "Nous allons faire la fête", or "on va faire la fête", which is more understandable for a French than "nous devons", because "nous devons", sounds like it was "obligation", "duty", or "moral necessity"(!)
But before, as you're the translator, I'd like you to tell (as, like I said above, I'm very ignorant about Danish or any other nordic language)if you think I'm right wanting to edit this way before validating...
Thanks, regards, Franck.

Hello "JP" and "Francky",

Fair enough, I get the message - no problems.
I will withdraw French as one of my languages for translation.

Kind regards, and no offense taken!
