sort translations by original language

in the translation page, it's very easy to sort requested translations by destination language.
for example: "show all the translations that have to be done in English, no matter if they are written in French, Italian, or German...".

could it be useful a new engine, to sort requested translations by original language?

talking about me, I could use it to search all the requests written in Latin and try to translate them.

Yes you are right, it's a very important improvement (but it's not easy ^_^). I put this in my prioritary list as there are now many translations requests and it becomes more and more difficult to find those we can do.

I've done something. You will see it on the translation home page. The language preferences are initialized with the languages you can read and your main language that has been set in your profile.
Then the change you make for your search are saved in database. When you leave cucumis and reconnect, you recover the languages of your last search.

As it uses javascript it might not work on every browser but I've tested on IE6 and Firefox.

I think the new active menus on translation home page are really great!
now you can browse all translations in every direction and choose every combination you want.

I don't think that the order of the 2 menus (first the destination language menu, or first the original language menu?) is so important...
in fact everyone is free to choose in a very quick way.

using these menus now I'm a little bit slower in finding translation; when there were the "green shortcuts" I was a little bit faster. but I need time to practice this new system.

Yes that's better now to see if there are translations to do.
Next I would add email notification according to the language preferences, but that's more tricky.
