| To everyone who knew Jim (Porfyhr), I'm very sad because I received a card this morning, from his mum, and in this card she was telling me :
"Franck!
I'm sorry, but I have to tell you that my son Jim died on 29th September
Best regards
Jim's mother"

| Oh!
This is really a sorryfull message.
I think we have to offer Jim's mother our condolences.
What about a letter send from one to the next (from our postcardlist) and the last one send it to Sweden? |
| 7 November 2007 09:06 |
| I think we should ask Pia (who's neighbour to Jim's home) maybe to write it in the name of all the friends Jim had here on cucumis... |
| 7 November 2007 09:58 |
| Oh, my God. This is absolutely shocking. What happened? I still read it and I can not believe it. Actually I'm speachless. |
| 7 November 2007 10:48 |
| Really shocked.
I have no words. |
| 7 November 2007 10:39 |
| I can't tell what happened, as Jim's mother was very sober in the words she employed (my post above)
We should write something in our own languages, gather it and send it to pias for her to print it and send it to Jim's address, I don't know what you think about this tribute, I personaly think we should do that, but maybe someone's got a better idea? |
| 7 November 2007 10:49 |
| Or maybe , for those who got Jim's address, would it be better to individually send a regular mail (letter of condolences) at Jim's address.
I don't know, I'm asking... |

This is heartbreaking, to say the least... |

guilonNumber of messages: 1549 | It only sounds like a bad dream into my mind!!! I hardly believe it. He was some smart, strong-minded, and passionate man who in few months gained our affection. I'm as shocked as you all are. I support whatever you decide to do as a condoleance from the community. |

| It's really a sad day. We will miss you Jim.
Maybe I should post a short entry in the blog section to say bye to Jim ? |

IF you like me to arrange this, please let me know and I would be glad to help you.

| jp, that would be very nice, he deserves it.
It should be not allowed to die so young, God rest his soul. |

| I am very sad to read this news. I certainly want to take part in any form of letter etc from Cucumis expressing our regret.
Jim will be missed as well for his commitment and enthusiasm as for his competence. Personally I will always remember him as the person who was a fan of the finnish singer Katri Helena and even performed her songs (also in my translations into swedish). I also got a lot of encouragement from him which made and will make me feel so good. I deeply regret that we were not aquainted long enough to meet and sing together which was planned. Next time I have the possibility I promise to perform Katson sineen taivaan and remember him. For the moment there is only silence in my heart.
My deepest sympathies to his mother, family and friends

| I usually don't say any word on occasions like these, but I want to say that I'm feeling really bad. |

| No words...
Just... a very bad feeling...

If there will be a letter containing messages of condolences in every language, here is the Turkish condolences:
Allah rahmet etsin= May God have mercy on him(for the deceased one)
Başınız sağ olsun = My condolences (literally "May your soul be alive" )(for the mourning ones)

| Although I never got the chance to talk to him personally, I'm really depressed now... I dedicated "Tears in Heaven" played on the piano, to him. I usually never sing, but on this occasion I did.
"Lautlos schwebt ein Blatt vom Baum,
ganz allein,
viel zu früh.
Ein Windhauch entführt es meinem Blick.
Es wird irgendwann ein neues Blatt geben,
doch kann es nie wieder so sein wie du."

I got so sad this evening, seeing this thread.
Jim was so eclectic. He was a great cucumer. I don't know what to say. |
