...passionfruit! Or pomegranate. Oh dear Pandora.

All these lonely heart letters, Dear John letters, ... And the delicacy with which translators attempt to extract the heart's true meaning from awkwardly written words on a page.

Passion fruit flower
Passion, Paixão, Passión... A strong word in any language...
But pomegranate?
ROMÃ
Not a very nice name in portuguese (ROMÃ), but how juicy!!!

Nice comment Una!

Why is it not nice ROMÃ? Shouldn't it sound a little like romance, thus making a nice pair with passion?
(Note that passion may also have a negative meaning : see Mel Gibson's film ...)
I have two pomegranate trees in my garden and now they are covered with flowers!

I have one too, but I think that isn't a very pretty word...
In ROMANCE the nasal A isn't interrupted... In Romã it is... I think that's why... It's my opinion...
But the plural form is nicer: ROMÃS, sounds like romance...

In Turkish the word for pomegranate is "nar", which sounds so similar to the German world for fool, "Narre", that I always think of it as a foolish fruit.

That's a pity I had to choose the name alone. I love Pomegranate or Pomegranade.

"And the delicacy with which translators attempt to extract the heart's true meaning from awkwardly written words on a page."

This is defining so truly what we are doing here, that I could use it somewhere in the site

I love pomegranate too - and it takes the juice of so many valuable fruit "jewels" to make a small drink of this fine fruit juice, just like it often takes the work of so many of us rare birds collaborating to produce a tiny (but correct) translation.

On a very useless afternoon here in my store, I was thinking about this topic, and as I love the photoshop program, I did a few things, and also based on what Pluiepoco told in another topic here:
"Poor North Europeans have no summer, so they would not like watermelon, but charcoal fire.
So I would like jp to design other skins for cucumis, in a red hot colour in addition to the blue cold one"

Well we do have summer in Scandinavia (today +34 C) and we eat watermelon (from Cyprus, Greece...). It is more summer than autumn. The most beloved season seems though to be spring.

Nameing a skin watermelon is nice, esp on this site.

I think many new features of the layout is most appreciated and will attract new members to personalize their site with colours, fonts, pictures and so on!

Start a project Thathavieira!!!

I like watermelon, it's called "pastèque" in French and pastecca or patecca in U Corsu (Corsican)

Laura, your passiflora is beautiful!!

I like the word "pomegranate" but not in French, in French we just say "grenade", which is the same word as the "exploding" type of grenade. I love it in U Corsu, it's called melingrana.

ps, I wan't to know how to write in bold, small type and add photos to my messages, who can explain it to me?
