| Ask this to JP.
It was, because sometimes I'd translated and some english experts didn't like to edit some small errors... etc.
But now how do you like to accept my help?
It's still difficult for me knowing how to help, because I don't know your german skill.

| Verstehe. :-)
Nun ist meine Frage, ob Du von dem großen Text die Sätze als solche aufgrund schwieriger Grammatik oder nur ein paar Wörter nicht verstehst?
Soll ich mal eine Art Vorübersetzung machen? |

| I would translate the first sentence like this:
"As Elias spoke only from the word of God in the hammer-aria N° 17, in the desert-aria n°26 he only spoke of himself: <<I desire to not more live, because my days are in vain>>."
you may change grammatical things. |

| Hi Tristan,
I guess I would correct it to:
Elias only spoke of the Word of God in the Hammer Aria N° 17; apart from that he described himself in the Desert Aria N°26 "I desire to live no longer, because my days have become vain!"
This is kind of "classical" English, which fits the context here, I should think.
Usually we say
Elijah
in English instead of
Elias
but I think the latter is better here, unless the Arias are in English.
Aber mein Deutsch ist sehr schlecht... |

| In the formal composition is the difference of the two arias visible, too. The first aria had a extensive coda, a width final affirmation, which can be interpreted as a expression of great certainty. |
