| Goncin, Kafetzou, and all the others:
I was informed about the translation of proper names, however in this text I guess it would be impossible to avoid them since we are translating a kind of biography.
I hope all this work will be worth.
If I have made another mistake by translating the text, please forgive me.

This (and your translation) is OK, just as the translation object isn't the personal name itself, but a true and worthy piece of text.
Don't worry! |

| Then... thanks.
And please, just Lilian, ok? |

My fingers were getting worn typing such a long nickname... |

| diversi errori di battitura, nel contesto comunque è una buona traduzione |
| 26 Novembro 2007 06:31 |
| What are the errors, efrank? |
| 26 Novembro 2007 06:32 |
| Lilian, the warning about name translations concerns the kind of translations we used to get tons of - just names being translated from one language to another - usually requested by Brazilian tattoo artists or their customers. |
| 26 Novembro 2007 08:58 |
| Visto che vengono chiesti quali sono gli errori, ne riporto alcuni.. mi sembra ci siano più che altro errori relativi ai nomi propri, il resto mi sembra abbastanza ok..
Albanese com Cassano -> Albese con Cassano
Luigi Bacconi ->Bocconi
CdA dell’Ice -> (questo non so.. Ice's CdA? ma non mi convince)
Slovak -> Slovenian
Istriano -> nativo dell'Istria (penisola dell'adriatico appartenente a Slovenia e Croazia) |

NegoNúmero de mensagens: 66 | Liliancanale, here are my thoughts in order of appearence:
Com = con (in line 1)
Commercial university = I do not know how to translate this exactly. But when written like this it implies that the university is not supported by the governent, while what the writer means is that the curriculum on this university consists of commercial subjects. It would suggest a business school but that's not it either.I suggest you leave out the word 'commercial' altogether and just say University Luigi Bacconi.
primary statement = motto
holds the folowing roles= holds the following positions
since 2003 (the word since was omitted here in the translation)
istriano = an inhabitant of the region Istria (?)
lavori pubblicci = public works ( concerning roads, canals, bridges etc. this is not the ministry of labour)

| I've made some of the suggested corrections and I think it's OK now.
What do you guys think? |
| 27 Novembro 2007 14:35 |
| I think there is still something to adjust.. |
| 27 Novembro 2007 14:58 |
| I made a few more corrections - I added "of Istria" near the end and changed "primary statement" to "motto". There was something else, too, but I can't remember now what it was.
Thank you all for your help - it's been invaluable! |

| The other correction was about the name Bocconi (3rd line) |

| the only thing is "Albanese"... the right word is "Albese" because it is the name of the town/city..
and I'm not sure about "CdA dell'Ice"... "dell' " is not translated.. someone has an answer? |
| 27 Novembro 2007 16:14 |
| Shamy is right, the correct name of the town is "Albese", not "Albanese".
Sorry for that...lack of attention.
Anyway, I guess it's too late now. |

Albese con Cassano (here near to me)
and
cda = consiglio d'amministrazione (I don't know how to translate into English)
cda dell'Ice = consiglio d'amministrazione OF THE Ice |
| 28 Novembro 2007 04:34 |
| The ice? I don't understand.
I changed the place name to Albese, put in "the Administrative Council of the" and cut out "ice". |
