Just one problem:
I've just been told that no te ves como latina means something a little bit different from what is written in the translation.

no te ves como latina:
"You don't look like a Latin American girl"

By the way, this should be a meaning only.

Well, so that's right.
Somebody told me that it means "you seem not consider yourself a latinamerican-like girl" (bah, what an awful translation of the portuguese idiom).

Thanks Guilon

No, yes, it could be that too, but not in this text, because in order to have the meaning you've been told, you would rather say:
"no te ves a ti misma como latina",
whilst the meaning I just gave you is a very common idiom, mostly in Latin America.

Casper,
What does "dyrbara" mean in this translation.
Like a treasure or something?
or just beautiful?

I think the word for "preciosos" is "vakra" not "dyrebare"

A beautiful treasure.
You can change it for "beautiful". I don't like it anyway.

What's the difference of what was written before and "du ser inte ut som en latinamerikansk tjej", Pia?

I learn one expression and then comes another one completely different. This is tiresome.

Ok...I'll edit it for you. I think that you could say either "som en vacker skatt" or just "vackra"

the difference:
stupid me Casper...I use to save the first origin translation as a "note" or a message here, but I did not this time...can't remember what you had write in swedish before I edit it. But the difference anyway is the same as you and guilon "talked about" (of course )

Du verkar inte ...
I can't remember. I was sleepy.
Vackra is ok.

Pia,
sorry for edit this translation!
I didn't see that this one is yours. Casper asked me to look at it and maybe change it into a more swedish "way" ..and without thinking I did.

Hope that you agree with the edits...

It's okay, Pia! (Of course!) I am just afraid that I am a bit "slow" right now! You did it so well... I acctually remember that Caspar had written "latinska" before you changed it into "latinamerikansk tjej" (latin american girl). That was a very good change, since, by some (not very logical) reason there is no such word (latinska) in Swedish... (as far as I know).

Well, I think that this Caspar (I don't know him) has found it somewhere.
Let me guess... maybe a dictionary (though it is an adjective for things related to the Latin language).

Sorry, Casper tavernello??
Yes, you are really right, there is a such word, but just not with that meaning... (girl/women from latin america)...
:-)
I think I will go to sleep before I write anything too stupid here!

but just not with that meaning that's what I've just said.
I think I will go to sleep before I write anything too stupid here! just go ahead, I wanna read. I got a good sense of humor, but I see that you don't, for not understanding my joke.

As far as I know, it´s just another way of saying "adiós" in Spanish:

A quote from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciao :

"Spanish, esp. in Latin America: chau or chao ("goodbye" )"

Or a quote from: http://spanish.about.com/library/beginning/bl-beg-basics-greetings.htm :

"An informal alternative in some areas is chau (sometimes spelled ciao, from Italian)."
