| "Deus menino" should be translated either as "God boy" or "God child".
Or even "Baby God". |
| 25 November 2007 20:04 |
| Last sentence means:
"Was born the Son of God". |
| 26 November 2007 07:42 |
| "the little God was born" (litteraly) |

| Or even better "the infant God" ?? |
| 26 November 2007 09:18 |
| Why don't you use "our Lord" or something like that. I doubt they use "child God" in English, sounds a little awkward. |

| It sounds REALLY awkward!!!
Besides in Portugues is used the expression
"Deus menino" to refer to Jesus at his birth. That's why I still believe Jesus is the best option. |

| Well the second verse doesn't make much sense in English really (not to me, not right now) within this context(I get what it means but mostly by reading the Pt text). Perhaps a case were what with that and the last verse notes could be added?
I like it as it is given how this translation is going to be used but I guss I like notes too much |

| Creio que o mais correto à sua tradução seja:
Christmas, Merry Christmas
Even being a small one
Let us sing with happiness
God little boy was born |

| That's more literal than the one we have now, Laura, but it doesn't sound right in English.
