In English I would probably have written:

"You know how very glad I was that you found a job and moved...?"

or

"You know, I was very glade that you found a job and moved".

Both of the versions you suggested seemed to have faulty syntax and "felt" translated. A text should never "feel" translated. I should always feel like it was written directly in the target language.
