appleAnzahl der Beiträge: 972 | Hi, Una. I wonder if you saw the messages I sent to Frejofu and j.p. about the translation I requested from German to English. I haven't solved my problem yet. Your English text sounds very nice and is surely correct, but...Did you notice that "eingebildeter" (which has a missing "de" in my text) is a genitive case? And did you read my note about a French version?
To tell you the truth, I requested an English translation "experts only" in the hope of having more chances to get an accurate translation, but I would have to translate it in Italian. So, I am not really looking for a good English prose, but I need to understand it correctly, specially the word "eingebildeter".
The French version of the article, which is made by a French-Swiss person, translates it as "cultivé", that is cultivated or cultured. One should think that a French-Swiss must have some familiarity with the German or, at least, someone at hand to help him. So, I wouln't discard it carelessly. But, again, what has eingebildeter to do with cultivé?
Can you help me?
Ciao,

| Hi, I have created the necessary links in wikipedia to the chinese pages (tumor markers and such) for your "Alpha-fetoprotein" entry. Yes, I use my chinese name there, not samanthalee. |

appleAnzahl der Beiträge: 972 | Hi, Una! I made a little change in the AFP Italian translation, I changed "analisi sanguigne" into "analisi del sangue" which is the usual way to say it in Italian ("esami del sangue" would be OK too, it's a synonim).
Sorry for not noticing before. |

| Hello "Una Smith",
"'Icky' business talk or not.."
Being an American citizen you should know that this is a Common and Widely used phrase in 'daily' American English and definetly not a phrase singled out from the 'business community' in USA.
It is also used between friends mainly on the east coast of USA.
In CA they definetely have their own 'slang-expressions' that would cover everything from 'surfer-/black comunity-/business-/protest movement-/Hollywood-expressions...
Not to mention "phrases" from Southern U.S., Boston, Maine, Texas, Oklahoma, Canada etc...!
Personal Opinions about which groups of people or Personal Feelings on how a phrase is incorporated in a language doesn't belong in making good translations nor does it make it less of a 'reality' for us as translators.
Kind regards,
Mats Fondelius "figge2001" |

| Hi Una
I posted this in my own inbox!!!!
You are getting to know me, so I know you'll let me off, I posted it yesterday, and since, there are even more points on my "account" than I could account for, someone else must have also donated some points anonymously I have another message that I have sent to menininha, I will forward you a copie but to your email inbox.
This was my reply to your message:
A cucumis friend has donated me 2000 points so I can start getting some of those medical studies translated into different languages.
It's someone you know here she said to say hi to you tooo!, its Thathavieira, with whom I was on the cucumis chat last evening.
She said she wanted to donate 1000 points, then she came back and said she had donated me 2000!!!
The rest is from translating one or two articles that were quite long.

| good evening
Thanks for your comments and question :
"Sorry, too many errors in the English. Eg, informática means informatics or information systems, not computer science. "
I think in this case it means "information systems" as it is not connected directly with
computer science.
I think I must check portugues text
Thank you

| The solarbeam/sunbeam discussion was between my inbox and tristangun's - how did you get involved? I'm confused.
Laura 3
P.S. I've never heard solarbeam (particularly not as one word), but if you say it's used, I believe you. |

| Could you help me with this?
Aš atvykau prieš du metus ir iki šiol dirbu tame fabrike.Tai tik viena kompanija kuri manau gali būti,kaip rekomenduojanis asmuo.
I arrived here two years ago and until now I'm working in that factory. In my opinion it's the one company which can be like commendatory person.
It's a difficult text, and I've looked up some words in my dictionary: I know it's not perfect english, but how can you write this english sentence in proper english?
thanks alot,
N. |
