Hello "Sah",

I didn't aprove of the two translations because they are not correct.
It's as simple as that.
Do not take it personally.
We all, me included make our mistakes and that's how we develop our skill.

Kind regards,

Hello "Sah",

I'll do my best to 'set things straight' for you.
The translation we talk about originates from Norwegian:

"Ha det bra, vi snakkes"

This is a daily Norwegian talk that borders to slang...

As I understand it you translated it from French to English, correct?
The French phrase you used was:

"Prends soin de toi, à plus"

Then you made the translation from there to English:

"Take care of you, see you"

This translation does not contain the essence of the original message in an acceptable way nor is it an expression that a native English speaking person would use.

There are three acceptable versions to translate this to 'daily English talk' without loosing the message of the original text:

"Take care, see you later" or
"Take care, talk to you later"

or in American English you would say:

"Take care, let's touch base later"

Kind regards,

Mats Fondelius "figge2001"

Eww, I hate "Take care, let's touch base later"; it is business-speak for "enough yakking already, I have work to do".

Both of these are common in American English:
"Take care, see you later"
"Take care, talk to you later"

Sah,

Figge2001 commented about this translation in my inbox, making me think I did not make my point. My point is not about "let's touch base later"; my point is about the two phrases juxtaposed: "Take care, let's touch base later". Together, these two phrases have a nuance that almost certainly does not exist in the source text.

Non si tratta tanto di trovare un'unica parola, secondo me, quanto di restare sul piano della metafora. Usando "duro" e "difficile" facciamo una versione in prosa, per così dire.
Ogni giorno è un inferno? ...troppo?

Mi chiedo come mai abbia richiesto questa traduzione dall'inglese all'italiano? Non potevi fare da sola?
Quanto al contenuto, lungi da me difendere il culto dell'eroe, ma bisogna proprio vedere da che pulpito viene la predica (Guantanamo?)

avrei potuto farla si ma purtroppo non ho molto tempo con lo studio e tutto. per quanto riguarda il contenuto è una critica all'"eroe" ma non chiedo consensi o approvazioni solo una traduzione :P
