| Hi Pia,
"does remind" is a syntax used to intensify the verb like "really/surely/etc." Therefore we don't usually use it together with those adverbs.
has liberate oneself ---> has liberated itself
For the last line I'd suggest:
"(It's) The greatest mess ever caused to European transport in peacetime."
What do you think? |

I should have seen it before!! The first word in the last line is not translated, sorry! It should start with: "(The) Consequences are ..." |

piasHozzászólások száma: 8114 | I hope so, Lilian! Thanks. I wonder if "chaos" is a better word than "mess" in this context, but I guess the poll will tell |

What's the problem? CC: Bamsa |

BamsaHozzászólások száma: 1524 | I am not any English expert but I vonder if "iðrum" is included in the sentence "liberated itself from the earth" and you translated "brotið sér leið" to "liberated" |

piasHozzászólások száma: 8114 | You are right, I excluded "interior", thanks!
I thought broke free/ liberated was synonyms?? But if you prefer the other one, no problem. What about: "...broke free from the earth's interior" |

BamsaHozzászólások száma: 1524 | It is about something that broke a way out from the interior of the earth.
"liberated itself from the earth" sounds like it isn't there anymore.. |
| 20 Àprilis 2010 10:46 |
piasHozzászólások száma: 8114 | And you mean that, the current translation isn't about that??
Lilian... please, reject my translation! |

BamsaHozzászólások száma: 1524 | You don't need to reject it. I'm just commenting your translation, that's what the poll is about |

BamsaHozzászólások száma: 1524 | It is a monster face at the surface of the earth spewing fire and sulphur into the atmosphere. A volcano? |

piasHozzászólások száma: 8114 | Yes, Ernst, you have understood the meaning.
The poll is for constructive critisism. |

piasHozzászólások száma: 8114 | Ah, you must have edited your post (20 April 2010 10:43) at the same time as I answered. Cause "liberated itself from the earth" sounds like it isn't there anymore.. was NOT there then.
Hm, that is constructive critisism. So maybe: "broke free" is better? |
