I think I already solved the problem about "konstiga". "Raras" and "extrañas" mean the same in Spanish. The point is I don't get how one could get the best out of a strange situation, but that is what the source text was saying.

In any case, I've realized you Swedes have a "konstiga" way to speak, most of the Swedish-Spanish translations result in a very weird, almost absurd Spanish. But you know that, you speak Spanish pretty well.
