Contrary to some theoretical expectations (Ellis & Knaus, 1977), Ferrari and Emmons (1994) found that indecision was unrelated to irrational beliefs (r = .11). Results also indicated that people who believe in a just world (i.e., believe that life treats them fairly) are less likely to be indecisive. This study suggests that the relationship between indecision, cognitive processes, and situational variables needs additional investigation.
