introduction
with an initative from the united nations relief & works agency, the women programs center at al-jalazoun camp was established in 1953 with the aim of empowering women with anumber of simple training courses which incudes: sewing ,needle-work ,traditional manual works as weii as som educational courses regarding the issue of maternity and childhood.with the establishment of the palestinian national authority in the west bank and gaza strip,the unrwa decided to close the center so as to decrease the services rendered to palestinian refugees.this encouraged agroup of women activities in the camp to establish an adminisrative body to follow up the center affairs as it constitutes the only place for gathering and participation in puplic life.
