Tonsillitis


This is one of the common infections of chilhood.The organism chiefly responsible is the streptococcus,although the micrococcus(staphylococcus)and pneumococcus may be the causative factors. The disease is characterized by high temperature and a sore throat.These continue for several days and,if no comlication occurs,the temperature drops to normal and the child recovers.Recurrent attacks may follow and chronic inflammation of the tonsils results.
