Eri osoitteisiin!
6.2.2008 1:07

Remarks about the translation
Mi finés es intermedio, pero creo que la idea general se entiende. Espero que te sea útil.

Very good indeed! I am sure that you have understood it all.

This is only academic, but the last phrase has been divided into two in a way that is be a bit different than the original. You might consider these for example (please note, I am only referring to grammatics; the division of the sentence and the order of information):

La pareja de músicos, el cantante de The Rasmus Lauri Ylönen y la vocalista de PMMP Paula Vesala, que esperan BEBE DE VERANO, vivían un tiempo juntos pero ahora tienen de nuevo domicílios diferentes. (most literal, but very long)

BEBE DE VERANO esperan la pareja de músicos, el cantante de The Rasmus Lauri Ylönen y la vocalista de PMMP Paula Vesala. Ellos vivían un tiempo juntos pero ahora tienen de nuevo domicílios diferentes.

The grammatical form in "kevätvauvaa odottava" is a substitute for a relative clause - and the main idea of the last sentence is that the couple is now living in different places. The fact that they lived together earlier and that they are having a baby are just extra info - grammatically. (Why in capitals then you might ask?)

We use very long sentences in Finnish and it is often a good idea to divide the info into two. Here I just don't like the place of the full stop The reason might be that the commas are missing in the original...subject is "pariskunta"(=sing) and main verb "asui", not "Paula... asui" like this:

KEVÄTVAUVAA ODOTTAVA muusikkopariskunta, The Rasmuksen laulaja Lauri Ylönen ja PMMP-vokalisti Paula Vesala, asui hetken avoliitossa...

Also the "-" means "de" (PMMP-vokalisti=vocalista de PMMP) and it does not divide any ideas here.

I have no opinion on which words to choose here, domicilio, dirección, casa separada...and I am not good enough in spanish to find the correct verb forms, so sorry. I just wanted to explain something to our new and very capable translator with whom I hope we will have many discussions more
