| Hello my dear, It's been a long time ... | | Target language: English
Hello my dear,
It's been a long time since we last talked. How are you?
Everything is fine with me. I have returned from an one-month vacation in Thailand, where I went with two of my girlfriends, and this last week just started with a new job.
The wedding is being planned at this very moment, since we've just found the place, so there is no date set yet, but it will most probably be around December or January.
I will let you know in detail as soon as I have the date.
How are you, what’s new? How is life?
I miss you a lot and am looking forward to seeing you again!!!!
Kisses,
Lots of love

I don't know Greek. You may have done a literal translation of the original, however I must say some parts don't sound very natural in English
For example:
"A long time has gone by since we last spoke"
This is grammatically correct, but little likely to be used by a native who will probably put it as: "It's been a long time since we last talked" or "We haven't talked for a long time".
Please, have a second look at the translation and try to find those lines.
| | | 17 September 2009 02:14 | | | OK I am sorry if this will sound argumentative, but with other translations I tried to use wording that sounded more natural in English and was told to keep to the literal meaning. I have tried to this. Now you suggest (and I agree with you) to try and make the translation sound more natural in English.
I have difficulty knowing when to keep the literal meaning when I translate and when not. This is why sometime my wording in English sounds a bit weird. But I agree with you, and personally I prefer to make each translation sound as natural in English as possible.
I kind of fall between the lines... | | | 17 September 2009 02:21 | | | I think the translation should be as follows:
Hello my dear,
It's been a long time since we last spoke to each other,
How are you?
With me all is well, I have returned from a month's vacation in Thailand, where I went with two of my girlfriends, and this last week just started with a new job.
The wedding is being planned at this very moment, since we've just now found the place, so there is no date set yet but most probably it will be around December or January.
I will notify you in detail the very moment I have the date.
How are you, what’s new? How is life?
I miss you a lot and am looking forward in seeing you again!!!!
Kisses,
Lots of love
