There is no quality difference between the digital summing algorithms of the "80 bit" Metric Halo MIO, "48 bit" Pro Tools HD, or for that matter "128 bit" Pyramix. These bit rates cannot be directly compared as apples to apples. They use different systems. For instance, Metric Halo *only* has a 32 bit coefficient but an 80-bit accumulator but it doesn't sound worse than PT's 48 bit summing.
