That's not fair! I've translated the same way and my translation was rejected - but it's not my fault that the text in Russian has not any sence
By the way, in current translation is at least one mistake - in last phrase plural is used but there singular should be... From other sides, this translation does not have differences from mine and it will be the shame for experts if this translation is accepted

I've rejected both English translations, because I can't understand them at all! I didn't mean to be unfair to anybody - I just have no idea what this one is about! As far as the Portuguese translation is concerned, as far as I can tell it was done from one of the rejected English ones.

This is a help for the translation, not a real translation. It's just a message and that's why it isn't rejected. The real translation still has to be done, if it's possible to do it off course in a understandable way.

You're not alone can not understand translation - I am native Russian speaker and I am not able to understand original russian text! May be, something wrong with it, but not with the translation?

OKAY, let's deal with separate phrases of this mess. So..

1. доброе утро
It's just "good morning" - no doubds can be...

2. любят быть!
Face-to-face translation is "they love (like) to be", but what the author meant - I do not know.

3. языка есть разные начала...
As I already have mentioned in the comments, the main problem is about "tongue" or "language" the author speaks. If we learn this, we'll be able correctly translate the sentence, but in any case there will be only two variants:
1)"There are different beginnins of the language"
2)"There are different beginnins of the tongue"
Of course, another more exotic variants can exist. For example, the word "beginning" may be used as synonym for "source".
Main conclusion: it's almost impossible to translate such phrase without any context.

4. Узнайте slavic алфавите
The most senseless words in the text, another translation I can not find - "Learn (know) the slavonic alphabet". Geee, sounds like the nightmares of a madman, does not it?

5. перед Рождеством
Translation is "before Christmas", it's quite clear, very easy words.

6. ужин
Just "supper", here also we should not search for any hidden sense.

7. о настоящем : не волнуйся!
"About present: do not worry!" Also easy.

8. Вы будете любить его друга
"You will love his friend." No other variants.

So, I must say that the main problem with this text that we're trying to watch at it as at something integral, but, may be, it's just the set of different unconnected phrases?

Thank you Ramarren - it's beginning to make sense. I think these are separate ideas. The one that makes the least sense to me is #2 - is there any other way to interpret it?

My guess is that someone was invited to a Russian household for Christmas dinner. His friend is saying, "Just try to learn the alphabet before the dinner, and don't worry about bringing a present."

My question is only this: Could it mean, "Just learn the Slavic alphabet as a present"? In other words, they would be so impressed by that that they would consider it a gift?

As for "You will love his friend," I'm guessing it could be his/her/its, right?

As to #2 the only alternative is "they like (love)to be present at..." - for example, "they like to be [present] at festivals"...

As to slavic alphabet the verb is not LEARN as a process of getting knowledge but as synonym to COME TO KNOW, to FIND OUT. So, according to this, I do not think that your suggestion is right... I've told that I have no idea what this stuff means...

As to the frend it's 100% that friend is only HIS..
her - её
his, it's - его
But speaking about people we can't use a neuter gender, so it may mean ONLY "his"

Thanks for all your help, Ramarren. On the basis of what you said, I decided to accept the second translation, which of course IS unfair, since that's not the one you did, but it's the one that most closely agrees with what you said.
