| Hi, turkishmiss. I think there is a problem in the last sentence. You can try this one if you like:
"The love should belong to someone who deserves it" |
| 6 Novembar 2008 08:28 |
| 4üncü cümle bence yanlış,
Love must belong to the one who deserves (merits) it. |
| 7 Novembar 2008 23:51 |
| yalnızca son satır yanlış geldi bana. Onu da şöyle çevirdim ben: the love must exist in whom deserves...

| Hi Miss,
Would you like to make any change in your text? |
| 9 Novembar 2008 00:54 |
| Yes Lilian, Figen sent me an explanation and now I can edit. Thank you.
Here it goes:
I want you to understand what is the meaning ,first:
'Aşk layık olanda kalmalı'= with other words: 'aşkın kıymetini kim biliyorsa, aşk onda/o kişide kalmalı.'
here goes:
'the love, must remain/stay in (one) who deserves (it).'
|
| 9 Novembar 2008 00:57 |
| Well I think it would sound better as:
"love must come to the one who deserves it"
Is that right? |
| 9 Novembar 2008 01:00 |
| This translation is needs work. Among other things, we really don't say "according to me" in a context like this in English. We say "I think". |
| 9 Novembar 2008 01:01 |
| "Love should be for those who are ready for it." |
| 10 Novembar 2008 16:04 |
| Hi Lilian, should I edit with
In your opinion, love is made up of words
In my opinion, it's the meaning of life CC: lilian canale |

| Hi Miss,
Actually, Kafetzou's version is quite different.
"Love must come to the one who deserves it" and "Love should be for those who are ready for it" have different meanings I guess. Which is the right one in the original?
|
| 10 Novembar 2008 16:29 |
| I edited my version according to a bridge from Figen.
layık olanda is the verb Layik olmak.
"to be ready" for is hazir olmak
May be we should ask for other experts opinion. |
| 10 Novembar 2008 16:24 |
| hi turkishmiss
I think
"according to me" is a formal expression for this text.(kafetzou also talked about it)
"I think ", "for you" or "to you" can be better choices...
good luck |
| 10 Novembar 2008 17:27 |
| IMO, it would sound better as:
"You think (believe)..."
I think..."
I'll ask for a little help, OK?
Hey guys, could you tell us exactly what the last line means?

| how about
to you..
to me...
Love must stay/remain with the one worthy of it |

| Ä° think it's:'love should stay next to someone who deserves it'. Ä° have another question, whose song is it? Ä°lhan ÅžeÅŸen's or Kayahan's? |

| Hi 44Hazal44,
could you have a look to message above. first it was translated as :
"the love, must stay in who deserves it".
And Lilian our expert said it would be better as :
"love must come to the one who deserves it"
I'm sure Lilian is right

| Yes, finally, Lilian is right, 'come to' is better and 'the one' is also better than 'someone' because it indicates that it's one person.. i don't know how to explain that but it's like this in Turkish.. |

| The reason why I said "Love should be for those who are ready for it," is that we sometimes say the expression "to be ready for love" in English with the meaning of being open to receive it, I thought that was what was meant here, but I see now that I was wrong. Here is what I would write, in somewhat smoother English:
You think that love is only words
But I think it's the meaning of life
Keep going along in your way
Love should be for those who are worthy of it. |
| 13 Novembar 2008 15:04 |
| I think they also use "to me" to say I think
To you, love is made up of words
To me, ..... |
