| H, I've taken "All time" from this site : http://youtube.com/browse?s=mp&t=a&c=0&l=
Because it's exactly the same use I would like to have with it. |

| Hi, Kafezou. I can modify to "Ana really owns apples"... I know it sounds strange, the whole sentence sounds strange (even in Romanian), but that's EXACTLY what she has written. You can modify it as you think is right.
The note in the end was a warning from me. She has not used the Romanian characters and I post a warning. Unfortunately in the wrong place, I am sorry for that. |

| Hi Laura!
As a matter of fact I had a look at this Italian text a few days ago. It's quite difficult to translate into English. I am not sure (I am not a native speaker of Italian), but it seems to me something is not quite right in the middle of the sentence "da destinare a quanto richiesto", perhaps a word is missing.
Anyway, it means (as far as I can say): "So it was arranged that they should analyse and research the quantity and quality of the premises they should use/earmark for all that is necessary to the construction of a modern and functional museum".
da destinare = they should use/earmark (they intended these premises to be used for the construction of a modern ... museum).
a quanto richiesto = for/to all that is necessary/required
This "a quanto richiesto" bothers me ...

| Is something wrong with my translation? "Sa-mi vad" means "to see my" or "see my" and "mailul" means "the mail". I have preffered to write "read" instead of "see", because I believed the sense is more close to the Romanian text. |

| Hi, Kafetzou! Can you help me, please? I had a German text translated in English by Una Smith and validated by you. I still have some doubts.
Could you be so kind to have a look at the last message I sent to Una (who has disappeared) and tell me your opinion, considering the French version as well?
Ciao

| Hi, Kafetzou. Thank you for the translation about Aristophanes, at last! But now in my own profile there is the new (and right) one and the old (and wrong) one. I hope you dind't charge double score!

| Hi kafetzou, below is the translation of the message of interest.
关于“英雄末路â€çš„建议我接å—了。看到kafetzouå›žä½ çš„è´´ååŽï¼ŒåŽ»çœ‹äº†ä½ 的“北洋高â€è¯‘文。æå–œä½ ï¼Œä¸Šè¯‰æˆåŠŸäº†ã€‚
I accept your suggestion on the "There is no hero who thinks about his end" translation. I saw the message kafetzou sent to you and went to take a look at your "Peiyang University" translation. Congratulations, your appeal is successful.
("There is no hero who thinks about his end" is a translation done by me and humanlot had given me a good suggestion) |

| It's an invented word, conied by Emily C. Dooley to entitle an article about the American Dialect Society and the dialect contest, which has been conducted annually to name the most creative phrase or word of the year.
In 2005 whale tail was named as the most creative.
Truthiness was the overall word winner of the year.
Jump the couch the best Cruise related word ( a new category in 2005).
Podcast most useful.
Internal nutrition most euphemistic.
I've tried to translate this article in order to practise for my Translation Test at University.
How can we translate an invented word into another language?
If we decide to do it, we may invent a new word.
I'm looking for some creative ideas!

| And regarding this translation: http://www.cucumis.org/traducerea_11_t/view-the-translation_v_47446.html I have written a message about, have you seen it? If not, I am writing it one more time bellow:
"joy" is absolutely out of space there ("it is my hope and joy" ), the initial text says "dette er mit håb om at" which means "it is my hope that". And, an another small opinion, if I may. For that part "hvad jeg har brugt min tid på" I would rather say "how I have spent my time ", even the word-by-word translation would be "what I have spent my time with".
Was it something wrong I wrote about? I saw you have accepted the translation. But I still disagree with that "hope and joy". I asked my husband, he is Danish speaker and he said joy (which in Danish is "glæde/skæg" ) doesn't occure, at all, there. Is that "what I have spent my time with" the correct form? I am just curious... |

| I don't know if it was composed of linguistic and fantastic.
It could be.
I've thought that it was conied ( by the word linguistic) to convey something ironic and negative about this dialect contest.
For this reason I wanted to translate it into italian with the word: Linguasta! or Lingua-guasta!
But guasta it's too negative, it means spoiled, damage, ruined.
Linguastic: positive or negative?

| Maybe we could translate it only with an invented and meaningless italian word, composed of Linguistica.
Thank you very much

| Hi kafezou, regarding this one: http://www.cucumis.org/traducerea_11_t/view-the-translation_v_47118.html I am not sure, because it is a saying and sayings are not supposed to be translated word-by-word... |
| 3 Februar 2007 16:06 |
| Well, I didn't translate it - I just validated it. frajofu translated it, but it looked OK to me. We may be dealing with an original text that wasn't so elegant.
P.S. Why are you using "ain't"? It sounds really strange. |
