It was hard to find textbooks. I used a small dictionary, Winnie the Pooh (Winnie la Pu), and a Bible, among others.
It's still hard to find books or magazines in Esperanto, so I use the internet whenever I want to read something in it.
Amazon.com probably has some books in Esperanto, and local libraries may, too.

I learnt Esperanto from a Brazilian book titled "Esperanto sem Mestre" - "Masterless" Esperanto, by Francisco Valdomiro Lorenz.

groet

Lein

Yes, you better take care of that "thread".
Ooops...and now there is one more to add I think, or maybe you have already done it. So (once again) GOOD LUCK with your exams tomorrow! Now I shall have a look at our translations to be evaluated.

See you Nathan.

Sure Nathan, I'll give it a try!
But it will sure take some time for me to find out about these "boat-therms" in English.
Just wait ....

Nathan,
here is the bridge and you don't have to give any points! As I told, the only problem here is that this is about boats and specific terms ...I mark the words I'm not sure about with bold text. (And the text within parenthesis is just explanations)

"One of that times premier designers most successful designs - Sparkman & Stephens ”Firebrand” - stood model. The hull (hull of a boat) was given a long waterline, a pure underwater body (the part of a boat that is under the water) with long and harmonious soft lines. On (top of) this there was put a partial rig, with a big mainsail and a self-tailing Jib. The mast was given double spreaders, which eliminated the running backstays (runners), and a broad stay at the end of the gunwale. So was in Omega 42 classical tradition in appearance and characteristics combined with modernity long before it's time.”

Please Nathan, ask me to explain if the English is inadequate.

Hi Nathan

Never heard of that word.... maybe it is a misspelling for "gullapa”? "Gullapa" is not a real word I think neither, it's just something you can say to someone you like, if I translate it in English.... "Sweet monkey" (That sounds stupid) Maybe the meaning for it is similar to "sweet heart, honey, sweetie ...”

Btw. Could you understand my bridge for you ....yesterday? If there are things that are "unclear", please don't hesitate to ask!

Yes I know, you have to find all those nautical terms. I was lucky to find a Swe-Eng. dictionary on the net with "sea terms".

Dag Nathan,

Groetjes
Selim

Yes all the phrases are correct. The final "n" makes it clear who did bit who (Accusative or Direct object) and so the order of the words doesn't matters.

As to the adjective, it is more used to put it before the substantive, although I think that it is not wrong to put it after.

The accusative signal is considered by many as the most difficult thing to learn in Esperanto by those whose native language doesn't uses it. The problem is that the number of languages that uses (and the number of speakers) are very big so it will remain. Not to mention that Esperantists do not welcome reforms because the last one created a schism and the creation of Ido (another language like Esperanto, easier but with fewer speakers than Esperanto).

Goedenmorgen,
