| Umm ... this might not be about sleeping ...
How about "when we go to bed again"? |
| 14 Július 2008 16:59 |
| I'd say
"I can't wait to lie down (to go to bed) again tonight" |
| 14 Július 2008 19:31 |
| No, I don't think so - "go to bed" is better - "lie down" sounds strange in this context, unless you say "lie down with you", but even that is a bit odd. |
| 14 Július 2008 19:36 |
| I also prefer "go to bed". |
| 15 Július 2008 01:05 |
| I changed it and validated it. |

| It may, but nothing indecent. |

| Well, yes, but not a vulgar one. |

MideiaHozzászólások száma: 949 | Ο.k. because dunya insists that it can't have that connotation too and it only shows a person that wants to sleep because he's tired....! CC: lilian canale |

| I don't think so, I think the meaning is quite clear. The person looks forward for the night to come so s/he will be in bed with the other person. As Kafetzou said above, It has nothing to do with "sleeping". |

I'll ask Kafetzou to help me in the greek one!

| Sorry but French is my mother tongue and I AM SURE there is no sexual connotation here. If you are not sure, please ask a native French educated person like Francky5591 for instance. |

| dunya_guzel, I trust you. I think we should make sure that every language can be interpreted either way, if possible, though.
Francky, if you're back, Tantine, what do you think? CC: Tantine Francky5591 |

| I agree with dunya_guzel, nothing indicates any sexual connotation in this text, even implicitely. |

| Hi All
I agree with dunya_guzel and Francky that there is no implicit sexual connotation here. I would even add that “on†does not necessarily mean “we†in English and can be translated as “oneâ€. This phrase does not even imply that one or more persons will be sharing the same bed.
I could even suggest that “Can’t wait to go back to bed this evening†might be the least ambiguous way of translating this.
Hope this helps

| Thanks, Tantine - it looks like I was totally off base on this one. |
