elfcan88,

The pronoun "I" , the first word of a sentence and all proper names always take capital letters in English. Would you please edit that so we could set a poll?

I - French - By - Ozgur

Although you "rearranged"" the translation, you still haven't used all the capital letters needed as I told you above.

Would you please do that? Otherwise, I won't be able to set a poll.

What about "French" and "I"?

No matter where " I " is in the sentence it has to be always in capital.

i didn't know that "I" always have to be in capital.
and didn't notice French, either.
ok, i'm sorry.

but the text dosen't begin with past tense.
it is;
I tell you that you are very beautiful.
I wrote in French but I guess you don't know French.

The first sentence is in the present,
"yazdım" is not translated

i didnt translate "yazdım" because i didnt think it was necessary. that was a decission that i made. if i translated "yazdım" too, the sentence and the expression would be impure.
and "agree" cannot be used with "am".
true usage is "i agree with"

not "i" it is "I" and who knows that it was a decission?
"you were very beautiful" means not "any more".

it is not in same meaning.

why are you behaving like we are fighting?
i'm just trying to help people here.
i made a decision there, i decided to translate like this. yes, i learnt that it is "I" but we are not making translation right now, we're just having conversation.
and "you were very beautiful" is not a sentence by itself. it is past tense because it is used with "i told you" so after past tense we cannot use present tense. that's all i know. i'm sorry if i translated wrong. if i'm "all" wrong, mods will decide not to accept this translation.

"diyorum" is in the present too, so it's not "I told"

Hey guys calm down!
There's no reason for being rude. Come on! We all want the best translation.

merdogan,
you may be right when you say that the verb should be into present tense "I tell you..." in this case both verbs should be into present, "I tell you that you are".

And elfcan88 is also right when he says that if we write "I told you..." (like he did) he must put the second verb into past, "I told you that you were...".

So, the issue to be decided here is what the correct tense in Turkish is. From then on we will have our problem solved.

elfcan88, you can't "choose" the verb tense. If the original is into present you should keep the tense unless in the target language it would be wrong. I think in this case it would be correct as well, so, why don't we reach an agreement?

that's what i'm talking about already. in this case i thought that present tense would be wrong, so i chose to use past tense. we are saying the same thing, lilian he was saying that he told her that she was beautiful, not he was "telling" now that she is beautiful. that is in the second part of the translation.
yes, i know that he used "diyorum" in present tense but he was talking about something that happened. so i decided to use it with past tense. that's all!

OK elfcan, I understand what you mean, but I'm afraid that we have to keep the original tense even if we think it's wrong. Then in the remark field you write what you think (that it should be past).

And to all of you: everybody said that now you understood that " I " should always be written in capitals, so I hope from now on you do so in the messages too.

"I told you" - why past tense? where is "fransızca yazdım" ("I wrote in French"?
