Thanks a lot! CC: kafetzou |

| | "It won't be two shakes of a lambs tail" means it'll be very soon, although the original says "I won't be ..." - that means "I won't be long"; "I'll be there very soon". |

| | Oh kafetzou, I thought "it is two shakes of a lambs tail" meant: something very quickly, but it's a negociation, so then it would be: "It is not very quick"
Well, at least that is how I've learnt the expression. Well, it would not be the first time we learn wrong things at school! =)

| | So "I won't be two shakes of a lambs tail" is to be understood as if it was :"It won't take me two shakes of a lambs tail"?
I would translate it by "cela ne me prendra pas longtemps",or -even better- "je ne serai pas long" (more colloquial) just to translate the negation as it was expressed in the original, what do you think?
Thanks kafetzou, and thanks for the link, Miss, I particularly loved the south-west version lol... We could add this "en deux coups de cuiller à pot" in the comments area. |

| | Salut tous,
Tantine
