| İlginiz için gerçekten çok teşekkür ederim. Metni aynen bana geldiği gibi yazdım, bende anlayamadığım için sizden yardım istedim. sanırım biri saçma sapan bir şeyler yazıp gönderiyor. vaktinizi aldım teşekkür ederim. |

| Dear Ertan!
Can you help me on a place name?
The Greek form of this Pontic city is ΠαϋÏάη,
which may pronounce Pa-yu-rai, and the city was ancient place, which is in current Turkey, or northeastern Turkey.
So Can you help me to find its location?
Many Thanks! |

| Thank you, Ertan!
Yes, it is Pontus, but the city of Payrai is only a small pace in Pontus, not the whole.
So I guess it might be Bafra at present.
Can you recognize it? |
| 6 Juni 2011 13:24 |
| Dear Ertan,
I think 80 percent Bafra is the answer.
In fact, I find this name from a history book.
To read a history, it is fair to know where it is located.

| Dear Ertan!
Can you please help me to recognize the spell of a Turkish place?
In a historic battle of Köşe Dağ, or Köse Dağ?
I think Köşe means differently with Köse, and the first one may be translated into Corner Mountain, and the second Bold Mountain.
So, as you are native Turkish, can you tell me which is the real mountain?
Many thanks in advance! |
