Marriage in Switzerland

Documents for a Greek or foreign subject (meaning of Greek or non-Greek nationality/citizenship)

1.Birth certificate
2.Certificate of celibacy (of not being married, I am not sure how you call this one)
3. Certificate of citizenship/ nationality
4. Certificate of residence (where you live)
(the original of all three of them from the municipality )

5. Copy of the ID card or passport (for foreign citizens: Copy of the permit of abode or residence) [I don't have my dictionaries at hand; the first one means of living there and the second of staying there.)

The 3 first documents must not be older than 6 months

In case of a divorce

-court order
-written agreement for the children's custody (original)
- resignation (waiving) of judicial means (again lack of a good dictionary. This one means that you wave your right to persue matters in any legal matter that may reach the court)
- certificate of marriage with reference of the divorce (copy ratified? countersigned? from the registry, not older than 6 months)
