The Botanic Garden in Palanga is one of the finest, best-preserved and best-tended parks on the Lithuanian seaside. It was founded by Count Feliks Tyszkiewicz in 1897. That same year, the palace was built. The park was created by the famous French landscape architect, botanist Édouard François André (1840-1911), who spent three summers in Palanga with his son René-Édouard André (1867-1942), supervising the creation of the park. They were assisted by the Belgian gardener Buyssen de Coulon.
