Hello
With regard to the palettes, you should please get in touch with us next Monday, February 5th, at the following number:
0438 720 463,
where my work-mate Gennaro will answer and tell you if you have to give them back or not. Unfortunately today he is not there and there is nobody else here who can give me an answer about this subject.
Have a nice week-end

Apparently there are a lot of different possibilities for translating "palette", but I'm assuming they're just palettes (the kind that goes under shipped material), since it's about whether they need to be returned or not. -- kafetzou

Are you sure it's not just "palettes"? Those are wooden platforms used for shipping goods.

It may be. But if you mean the same wooden platforms used by trucks for carrying goods, in Italian they call them - 'pà-lettes -, and wrongly write "palets", but don't translate the word. However, Gennaro's work-mate may be the only one!

What do you mean by "Gennaro's work-mate may be the only one"?

Hi, Kafetzou. I meant Gennaro's work-mate (the person who wrote the text) may be the only Italian man who translates in Italian the word "palettes" (in the meaning of wooden platform).
He calls them "le palétte", plural of "la paletta" (fem.)
Actually, I found that meaning of the word "paletta" in the Italian dictionary, but I have never heard it being used in Italy. I've always heard that thing being called - "il pallet" (masc.) plur."i pallet(s)", which should be the English spelling - in Italy, and I found also that spelling in the Italian dictionary.
(But truck-drivers, shopkeepers, etc. usually spell it "palet(s)".

Meanwhile , and although by now it's too late (look at the date) I am still not sure how to translate "palettes" or whatever that is and that's after looking the discussion for both the English and the French translation I required. Am I too dense? (don't you dare reply "yes" !) grumble grumble grumble

Hello, girls!
Irini, I have just realized that it wasn't you who asked for a translation.
Since the guy who sent the text to be translated was so kind to thank me (even if what he really needed was the translation to Greek), I wrote him back and asked him if he can explain that word.
Let's wait and see if he aswers

Ευρηκα! Milox has just replied: you guessed right, Kafetzou.
He meant the platforms for skipping goods, specially in warehouses.

irini, you can see what a shipping palette looks like here:

I have no idea what they're called in Greek.
