| | I dont know if I shall evaluate from the English or the French translation but anyway the two don't mean the same thing to me so I can only say : one of them is wrong. I don't know
the source language but even if it "meaning only" the French and English translations can be closer. I think we nees help from Liliane or Jacky. |

| | Salut Francky
Hope this helps
Bises

| | I'm only commenting based on the English translation, but I don't think the English/French correspond closely enough. |

| | I'm sorry, but the French and the English versions do not look alike at all.... |

| | If you loved me as you say, you would care a little bit more. And you should know that I am your man. And what are you doing, my sweet honey? Nobody's thinking about me or is worrying if I have cigarettes. I know that I like you and that I love you very much. I don't mind that you are older than me.
Tu dis que tu m'aimes mais si tu m'aimais tu t'occuperais un peu plus de moi. Tu dois savoir que je suis ton homme. Et toi, qu'est-ce que tu fais mon coeur? Personne ne pense à moi ni même se demande si j'ai des cigarettes. Moi je sais que tu me plais et que je t'aime vraiment beaucoup. Ca ne me dérange pas que tu sois plus vieille.
Yes, slightly different, but not in its meaning, as it is a "meaning only" request, both can be accepted.
a small edit is to be done in the French translation, it is "ni même ne se demande si j'ai des cigarettes"... |

| | Hello Tantine. Have just read your message and I completely agree with your translation but couldn't we change one sentence :
Personne est en train de penser à moi, ni à s'inquitèr que j'aie des cigarettes.....
Personne ne pense à moi ni cherche à savoir si j'ai des cigarettes......
What do you think ? |

| | The version I copied-pasted above in my preview post is correct with the edit I suggested, French text is just different from the English one at its beginning , English text says : "si tu m'aimais comme tu le dis", and French one "tu dis que tu m'aimes, mais si tu m'aimais", which means exactly the same thing, just turned into a different way.
Let's don't spend too much time on "meaning only" translations, since it is correctly spellt and expressed, and just, as I said, slightly different; and moreover let's don't be too demanding about correspondance between English and French version, as far as both of them will convey the meaning of the Serbian version. |

| | "If you loved me as you say, you would care a little bit more" should translate: Si tu m'aimais comme tu le dis, ça t'importerais un peu plus |

| | meli494, just read what I said above, French version has not to be the exact translation from the English one, moreover French version was translated from the Serbian version, and not from the English one. And as it is a "meaning only" translation request, meaning is close enough for the French version to be validated as well. |
