| | I sent the translation of Sergiu's text to kafetzou a few days ago. My message was:
"Hi kafezou. That sentence can be translated:'The painter is human as we are, but he feels somehow deeper than others.' I believe he translated in Romanian the Russian translation and, then, is a little bit changed from the original text. The original text says: 'The artist is human as we are, only he feels deeper than we do.'"
So, I believe, he tried to say that the Russian translation is slightly different from the original text. Sorry if I was not so clear.... |

| | Hello JP, what does " CC: iepurica" mean? |
| | 19 Junio 2007 15:04 |
| | Hi,
Thx Iepurica, the meaning are very closed. Sergiu can you suggest a better translation then ?
nava, CC means "Carbon copy". A copy of the message has been sent to Iepurica. Experts can do this for messages below translations since a few weeks. They can send a opcy of the message to all experts and to all previous posters in the current discussion. I've jsut added the CC info recently, this way everybody knows who has been notified.
For example I sent a copy of this message to your inbox . CC: nava91 ramarren afkalin |

| | Is the problem the missing word "somehow" or is it the use of "painter" instead of "artist"? Basically, the question is this:
Does Sergiu have a suggested fix for this problem, or is he saying that Melissenta should reject the translation?
P.S. I wanted to cc Melissenta, but she's not on the list. CC: iepurica |

| | OK; this is really weird. I looked at Melissenta's profile, and she's not an expert, so how could she have been the one who requested the votes? CC: cucumis |

| | In the initial text is written very clear: artist. I am not so sure what Sergiu wanted to say and why he has changed the word "artist" to "pictor" (Constantin Brâncuşi is our most famous sculptor and he reffered to the artist in general, not to the painter in particular). I don't know what is written in the Russian translation, because even I am capable to read some letters ... this is actually everything i can do. So, I can not talk in his name. It is a very slightly difference between the two traslations, but not significant. You were right jp. |

| | Melissenta has been expert once (she's not now, I don't remember why ). |

| | I do not know Romanian language, so I can not say either the translation is right, but as to Russian text - it is perfect, it means "an artist is the same human as we, only he feels deeper than others" |
| | 20 Junio 2007 15:31 |
| | It sounds like that is correct, ramarren, so why don't you go ahead and validate it (so we can get rid of it)? |
| | 21 Junio 2007 12:18 |
| | What ramarren said is the exact translation of the English text, so it can be validated. As per Sergiu, I have sent a message asking him next time to be more polite and to write in English if he has something to add. |

| | Should I validate a text every time I find it correct from the point of view of the Russian, or I must also compare it with an original text? In second case I can't do this with discussed text because I do not know Romanian. But if only Russian check is needed then I can validate the translation. |

| | You should ask the community for help. If they think it is correct, you should validate it. In this case, I think you have already received confirmation that the translation is correct. |
